My story

A pharmacist by profession, I never thought one day I would become a breeder; on the other hand, I had been cherishing the dream of adopting a standard poodle for many years. Indeed, during my university studies, I spent many hours reading about the different breeds of dog but the real thing happened on the city bus where, every week, I came across the same standard poodle. who assisted a blind lady. I then knew that as soon as possible (for me it was acquiring a house) I would adopt my own poodle.
Médoc came into our lives in the spring of 2016 and left abruptly during an accident in the winter of 2018. At that time, we had already reserved our second poodle; my partner and I were already completely under the spell of this magnificent breed. The mother of our future puppy having been mated on the same day of our Médoc's death, we saw this as a sign and decided to adopt not one but two curly babies. So in June 2018, we came home with two beautiful balls of curls: Emma and Emmett. I was leaving with the certainty of bringing back two males but Emma won me over at first sight with her enthusiasm and her tons of kisses. I didn't know it yet but she was going to become my foundation dog.
The temperament, sociability, and beauty of our new loves quickly seduced us. Little by little, the idea of having my own breeding took hold; a real passion was born in me. I read a lot to learn more and more about education in general, canine behavior, poodles in particular, etc.
Motivated by my friend and mentor Lyne Corneau from Poodles Standards Élégance, I had Emma take various health tests (genetic disease, heart, eyes, hip and elbow). Everything was conclusive, all we had to do was find a house and land with more space, which was done in July 2021. I also had to set up my breeding program, register with the CCC , define my priorities and objectives as a breeder but above all, find it a name. Em Perfectum: E for Emma and Emmett, M in homage to Médoc and Perfectum because in my eyes, poodles are perfection. It was imperative for me to give the best possible foundation to my puppies and to do so, I needed help with new learning. I worked with Gaëlle Coconnier (canine behavior worker), who taught me a lot about the socialization aspect of puppies. She also referred me to the PuppyCulture program to give each of my puppies a good start,

EM Perfectum standard poodles finally had their first litter in the fall of 2021: the Hawaii litter of my beautiful Emma. The Hawaii theme is in memory of Médoc since we were traveling there when he died.
